Lately I’ve been having trouble staying excited about writing longish pieces of music. So yesterday I thought I’d do something shorter. Remember the Residents’ Commercial Album? Each of the tracks was exactly 60 seconds long. That seemed a bit too condensed, so I thought I’d write something 90 seconds long. Turns out the reverb tail at the end violated that by a couple of seconds, but here it is:
This was done in Reason 7, which I quite like. The percussion is the stock Kong kit, processed through different presets in a Rack Extension called Tone Mutation: Vocals.
